What Does Delayed Period Along With Spotting And Brownish Discharge Indicate?
Hi Doc.
My girlfriend started birth control at the start of her period and only missed one at the start other then that she was on time. But she was not taking one birth control that was piscribed to her was she taking the wrong ones . now 6 days before she is expected to get her period she had mild spotting and now had light brown discharge and we are worried that she's pregnant .. We took a pregnancy test the day after she got her first sing of spotting and as I read it was too soon to tell. We are waiting a few more days to tell .please help I worried out of my mined

First thing, she needs to repeat home pregnancy test or undergo blood test for beta-hCG to rule out implantation bleeding as she is sexually active and period like bleeding starts 6 days ago.
Other underlying causes could be hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, old blood, endometrial tissue, hormonal imbalance, stress/ depression, vaginal/ pelvic infection etc.
I suggest to consult with gynecologist for complete health check up with relevant investigation like ultrasound scan, blood count and hormone test to confirm the diagnosis. Take proper medication if required.
Maintain genital hygiene. Avoid mental stress. Good luck.
